So.. we had to take our beautiful old oak tree down. One of the reasons we chose our house and this street to buy a house on and live in is the feeling that the old trees give this neighborhood. We love them and they provide such great shade - they really help our power bill in the summer. This poor white oak died though. It didn't leaf out at all this Spring - it had a fungus and I'm sure it also was affected by the drought we've been having here in Georgia.

We used Steve's Tree Service and we were very happy with them. We still need to have the stump ground and now we will need to redo the driveway - where the tree had busted it up.

We hope to plant another tree to replace it soon. RIP beautiful White Oak...
